Client Relationship Management (CRM)

The importance of quick and easy access to client information has never been greater. With the client relationship being at the heart of the Pulse Portfolio design, users are able to quickly locate the relevant information from across all areas of the business. As well as providing a comprehensive KYC view, detailed notes may be maintained, reminders diarised and correspondence referenced via an integrated document management system.

With the ability to instantly review single, or groups of portfolios, and by taking into consideration valuation positions versus asset models, Pulse Portfolio provides the information required to retain existing, and potential clients, through the delivery of outstanding advice and service quality.

Valuations and Sector Analysis

One of the great strengths of Pulse Portfolio is that asset analysis and reviews may be applied across any hierarchical level; from individual portfolio, client, or family, through to investment manager, team, branch and firm. This extensive functionality includes the ability to query and select portfolios, based upon any combination of asset, sector, cash and CGT parameters, and preview or store the results as part of a wider portfolio rebalancing or compliance exercise.

Asset Allocation and Portfolio Modelling

Portfolio Modelling and Asset Allocation tools are indispensable to the Investment manager when controlling large numbers of Clients.

Comprehensive modelling and rebalancing capabilities within Pulse Portfolio allow for Portfolios to be automatically rebalanced inline with asset allocation models to ensure that clients meet their investment objectives. These tools are also becoming increasingly important from a compliance aspect, allowing the firm to clearly demonstrate why any transaction has been completed.

Capital Gains Tax Analysis & Optimisation

A highly sophisticated Capital Gains Tax module is accessible from all relevant functional areas, allowing any potential CGT implications to be viewed as part of the overall Wealth Management picture. In addition, where an Investment Manager has to consider specific requests, such as raising an amount of cash, or making use of an available CGT allowance, the associated results can be analysed to propose the most efficient utilisation of asset pools, and associated taper relief.

Performance Measurement

Pulse Portfolio incorporates GIPS compliant performance measurement, based upon the comparison of periodic valuation positions across user-defined sector indices. The Performance measurement capability provides standard performance analysis functions, allowing for a detailed break-down based upon asset classes and their associated index or benchmark.

Order Management

Pulse Order Processing (POPS) interfaces with all relevant modules in Pulse Portfolio, from which orders may be generated and interfaced to third-party order routing solutions to ensure STP. POPS authenticates pre-trade compliance checks on all orders to ensure, for example: that sufficient stock or cash is available to satisfy an order, no holding embargoes are breached and that there is full compliance with the client’s investment mandate.
